The PayJoy financing process evaluates multiple factors before approving an application. In some cases, customers may be disapproved due to inconsistencies in their documentation or risk factors determined by the system.
It is essential to understand the reasons for disapproval and the next steps in case of an appeal.
Reasons for Disapproval and Possible Corrections
Some disqualifications can be corrected, allowing the customer to resubmit their documentation for review:
Missing or incorrect documentation:
- Front side of ID is missing
- Back side of ID is missing
- Selfie is missing
- ID document is blurry, illegible, or cropped
- Selfie is unclear
- ID photo is blurry
- Uploaded a photo of a photo
- Uploaded edited photos
Solution:
Request the customer to resend high-quality, complete documentation to proceed with the validation.
Definitive Rejection Reasons
Certain cases cannot be reconsidered, meaning the customer will not be eligible for PayJoy financing:
Fraud-related issues:
- ID document is not live (photo of a photo)
- Selfie is not live (photo of a photo)
- Invalid ID document
- Selfie does not match the ID photo
- ID document appears fraudulent
- Selfie appears fraudulent
- Other suspicious fraud cases
Eligibility issues:
- ID document is expired
- Customer does not meet the minimum age of 18 requirement
- Customer was not present in the store during validation
- Customer has a negative API record
If a customer receives a definitive disapproval, they will not be able to proceed with the financing process.
Appeal Process
If the clerk believes that a customer's application was mistakenly disapproved, they can contact a support agent via chat in PayJoy App to evaluate the case.
Depending on the reason for disapproval, the agent will inform whether the customer can resubmit documents or if the decision is final.
Importance of Validation
- Transparency: Clearly communicating disapproval reasons helps customers understand the evaluation criteria.
- Security: Prevents fraud and protects the company from financial risks.
- Process Optimization: Ensures correct documentation submission and reduces wait times for eligible customers.
PayJoy’s support team is available to assist customers with their validation status and concerns.
Suggested Responses
Customer Disapproved but Can Correct Documentation
“The customer's application has been disapproved due to a documentation issue. Please check if any of the following documents are missing: front or back side of the ID, selfie, or if any files are illegible or blurry. Once corrected, the customer can resubmit the documentation for reevaluation.”
Customer Definitively Rejected
“Unfortunately, the customer's application has been permanently rejected. This may be due to an invalid or non-live ID/selfie, a document that is not accepted, suspected fraud, the customer not meeting the minimum age requirement, or not being present in the store. In this case, financing cannot proceed.”
Customer Wants to Appeal the Decision
“If the customer believes their application was incorrectly disapproved, they may request a review by contacting our support team. However, if the rejection is final, the decision cannot be changed.”
